Blessing, Belonging, Believing.

God called Abraham and Sarah to leave their home and go to a land of promise, where they would not only be blessed, but through them the whole world would be blessed. (Genesis 12)

We at Southminster believe God has not only blessed us greatly through Jesus Christ, but we are called to bless the world. Each Sunday we conclude our worship with a charge and response: “Now go and serve the Lord – for we are blessed to be a blessing”.

We bless the world both personally and as a community of faith by loving neighbor. We are strengthened to do this by loving God, the Holy Spirit’s movement in our lives.

We are a place to belong. Not everyone who is involved with us is a member. Some attend and enjoy the feeling of welcome and family while they discern God’s calling on their lives. We are a place to not only believe but to belong and grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God’s grace in Jesus Christ.
