Pastor Wendy Boden
Pastor Wendy feels blessed and delighted not only to work with a talented staff but also to shepherd a gifted, loving congregation. We love and serve together. She seeks to be a bridge to bring people together through Christ’s love. She loves scripture, seeks God’s face through various spiritual disciplines like prayer, meditation, worship and scripture reading, and enjoys coffee with people. Her three favorite verses at the moment are:
Matthew 11:29: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Galatians 5:6: “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.”
1 Thessalonians 5:19: “Do not quench the Spirit.”
Wendy has a BA in History from U Conn and an M DIV from Fuller Theological Seminary. After her education, she led a youth group in Southern California, pastored churches in Iowa and Wisconsin, and is now in her sixteenth year at Southminster. She has been long married to G. Blair Nelson, with whom she has two adult children.
There is certainly more that could be said. Such as, she plays the ukulele, reads both novels and non-fiction, and walking.
Come to worship, and set up a time to visit with her. She would like to get to know you better.
